Lindsey Vonn went on an unforgettable trip to Lake Como, Italy

Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn went on an unforgettable trip to Lake Como, Italy, in October. Vonn, 39, stayed at the luxury boutique Passalacqua hotel right on the lake, and shared highlights from the vacation on her social media. The athlete posted pictures of herself posing next to a swimming pool in a gray bikini, her hair tied back in a low bun. "Looking back," she captioned the post.

Vonn does a mixture of cardio and strength training three times a week with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson. She now has a body fat percentage of 15%, in comparison to 19% when she was skiing competitively. "I'm a lot leaner," she says. "I used to do things that were so sport specific, so I had to be bigger. But everyone is like, 'Oh my God, you're in the best shape of your life.' It's like — yes and no. I'm not training for my sport anymore, I am training to be lean and fit."

Vonn ate a clean, light diet when she was training and competing. "One thing that I don't eat before my races is meat," she says. "No steaks, no burgers. Your body is spending a lot of energy trying to digest it instead of using your energy to recover and rest and get ready for the race… In the morning usually I'd try to eat eggs and oatmeal, or in Europe they'd have muesli. When we'd go up on the mountain I'd always have some sort of snack like a protein bar, but I'd always get nervous so I never ate a lot when I was on the hill. Twenty minutes before the race I'd have a Red Bull, I always needed that extra energy. When I finished the race I'd have a banana and protein shake to replenish and refuel—it was usually a couple hours before I'd get back to the hotel, so I would eat what I could find. By the time I got back to the hotel, it would be dinnertime so I'd try to have protein, carbs, and veggies: My ideal meal was salmon, rice, and veggies."

Vonn's diet has changed since her retirement. "My eating doesn't look anything like it used to," she says. "I still try to eat healthy but I definitely let myself indulge a bit more, especially after dinner. It's pretty simple in the morning: eggs, avocado. Lunch is usually chicken and kale or a chicken salad, I try not to have too many carbs because I'm not working out that hard so I don't really need a ton of carbs. For dinner, I either do a beyond meat burger or a bolognese but the noodles are zucchini. And then dessert is almost always ice cream—I can't help myself, it's like, OK, I'm not competing any more so I get to treat myself."

Ice cream is Vonn's favorite indulgence. "I would say preferably froyo, I really like it with Reese's pieces combined with Reese's cups—but crumbled," she says. "If you're really going for it you can add some brownie bites in there. But if you can't get froyo, Ben & Jerry's always hits the spot."

Vonn is looking ahead to exciting new projects, including the documentary she made about her first mentor. "We have a great relationship, and I am able to showcase everything she meant to me. We did some interviews already, and there was crying. It was very emotional," she says. "Honestly, right now, these have been some of the scariest times, because I don't know what is ahead. As an athlete, you try to control as many variables as you can. And I can't control any variables right now. I am just trying to stay in the moment and spend time with people I care about."

Lindsey Vonn has an amazing body

Lindsey Vonn is expressing gratitude in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the celebrated athlete shows off her amazing body in a bathing suit while on Lake Como, sharing an inspiring message with her followers. "Moments of reflection… Hard work always pays off but I also have to pinch myself sometimes. Thankful to have the opportunities I have, no matter how much sacrifice it took to get me here, and I do not take one second for granted," she captioned the post.

Lindsey starts her day by taking her dogs out. "There are not many mornings where [my dog] Lucy doesn't abruptly wake me up before my alarm to remind me that she has to go to the bathroom. My other two dogs could probably sleep until mid-morning without having to go, but Lucy's a bit of a high-maintenance diva. That's definitely the first thing I do when I wake up," she told The Zoe Report.

Lindsey's "ideal day off is just being at home, on the couch, putting my phone away, snuggling with my dogs, and watching my favorite show," she added. "I just don't get that many opportunities to just unplug and not see humans. As much as I love people, I also love to not be around them. Just being around my dogs and not talking. That, to me, is the most resting and relaxing thing I can do."

One of Lindsey's self-care activities? "I love free diving — it's very meditative as well. It's one of those things where you have to be so focused. Kind of like skiing, where you're focused on one thing, but it's physically very demanding as well. There's a lot of precision that's involved. I don't know. I love it. Being in the water is very quiet," she explained.

What is her secret weapon for looking and feeling good? "I mean, honestly, the most important thing for me has been sleep. I have the worst bags under my eyes and I'm not good with beauty routines in the way that most of my friends are. The more I sleep, the better I look. I don't have as many wrinkles under my eyes when I sleep better," she says.

According to Lindsey, the right bedtime scent is vital. "I have this particular candle that I really like—the Voluspa Gardenia Colonia Classic Candle—and it also comes in a mist. I usually travel with that and it reminds me of home. Wherever I am, I like my bedroom to smell the same way. It's a comforting thing," she told Self.

Some people read, others watch tv. But Lindsey has a unique wind-down activity. "Right before I fall asleep, I practice my Spanish," she told Self. "I live mainly in Florida now, and I think it's important to learn Spanish living there. I use Duolingo for a little bit, just to get it in every day, and then I read a Spanish grammar book. This puts me to sleep quickly, usually around 10:30 or 11 p.m."

Skier Lindsey Vonn is still looking amazing

Lindsey Vonn is one of the most well-known skiers in the world. She's competed in the Winter Olympics, winning one gold medal and two bronze medals. Now retired, Vonn is still looking amazing. She recently shared a set of photos on Instagram of a trip she took to Lake Powell. Vonn rode jet-skis and posed in a swimsuit. She captioned the post, "Doctor approved activities."

In an interview with The New York Post, Vonn talked about how her training has changed since retiring from her sport. She says that she focuses more on being lean. "I used to do things that were so sport specific, so I had to be bigger," she explained. "But everyone is like, 'Oh my God, you're in the best shape of your life.' It's like — yes and no. I'm not training for my sport anymore, I am training to be lean and fit."

Vonn shares some of her wellness and health tips on Instagram. She said in one of her stories that she enjoys staying healthy. "1) Continue to take care of me," she said. "2) Maintain this clean living (foods, self care and personal growth. 3) Keep working out because it makes me happy and I feel better when I do it… and just ENJOY LIFE!"

In an interview with Live Naturally, Vonn talked about how she learned to eat healthy. "I was pretty clueless about nutrition as a kid. Diets have changed a lot too, because back when I was a teenager people were telling me to load up on carbs. I'd tell my younger self that mac and cheese was not the best meal … Plus, I ate a ton of the sugariest-possible cereal—that's like eating solid corn syrup! I'd also get myself to eat vegetables—I'm still not the best at eating them now; I try hard, but I've tended to rely on vitamins and supplements."

When it comes to carbs, Vonn chooses ones that are low-glycemic. "I ate Paleo [no grains, legumes or added sugar, and minimal dairy] for two and a half years, but now I've added more low-glycemic carbohydrates in the morning and afternoon for more energy and more protein and vegetables in the evening," she told Live Naturally. "Some low-glycemic carbs I like to eat are quinoa, Thai rice noodles or pumpernickel bread—they don't give me as high of an insulin response."

Vonn makes sure to get enough protein, and tells Live Naturally that she needs to pick the right proteins. "I used to drink a protein shake in between my runs in GS or slalom, but I found that if you have too much protein while you're working out, it takes too much energy for your body to process it, which is energy your body then can't use for fuel. So now I'll have a pumpernickel sandwich with almond butter and apple or banana, so I get carbs, proteins and fat all together."

A little more than a decade ago, another tennis star, Maria Sharapova, posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

Lindsey Vonn is having the time of her life

Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn is no stranger to showing off her body, toned from years of winter sports competitions, including the Olympics. However, this isn't your average bikini flex.

Vonn sports a strapless snake print bikini in Miami. She wrote from the heart "Smiling because I'm finally my authentic self 100% of the time, and happy to be surrounded by people who love me for who I am."

"Getting to this point has taken a long time but I'm here and I'm not going anywhere!," Vonn wrote in her feel-good picture

Vonn's confidence might have something to do with her workout. In a previous interview Alex Blunt, Vonn's trainer for the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, said her workout routine focuses on building strong abs and includes a series of bodyweight moves like V-ups, hip-ups, and leg lowers.

As for workout fuel, Vonn loves pro chef Daniel Churchill's coffee "bliss balls." Made with seven simple ingredients, Churchill, told that the high glycemic index in the bliss balls makes them the perfect quick-energy snack before and after a workout.

Lindsey Vonn Is feeling proud of herself

The former Olympic skier, who recently split from hockey player P.K. Subban, proudly showed off her six-pack abs in a yellow two-piece, noting she’s been “working hard” and “taking care” of herself.

“You can judge me if you want, but I’ve been working hard in the gym and taking care of me…. so I’m going to post some bikini pics because I’m proud of myself,” Vonn said.

In the images, Vonn is seen vacationing “somewhere sunny,” as she posed against a beachy backdrop.

Though Vonn is currently enjoying some R&R, that doesn’t mean she’s postponed her workouts.

In a recent interview, Vonn spoke about working out with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson three days a week, which includes a mix of cardio and strength training.

“I’m a lot leaner,” she said. “I used to do things that were so sport-specific, so I had to be bigger. But everyone is like, ‘Oh my God, you’re in the best shape of your life.’ It’s like — yes and no. I’m not training for my sport anymore, I am training to be lean and fit.”

Vonn is focused on herself and her future since announcing in December that she and Subban, 31, had ended their engagement. The couple had been dating for three years.

Lindsey Vonn is showing her fit physique while enjoying a tropical getaway

The retired Olympian posed for a photo in a bright red bikini alongside her dog, Lucy, while strolling the beach. The 35-year-old has appeared to be enjoying a break with her canine companion in the last couple of days but refused to spill details on just where she was.

Vonn's backside was facing the camera as she smiled with her hands on her hips.

In August, Vonn announced her engagement to the hockey player, 30.

"I said YES!!! Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with this crazy/kind/handsome/hyper/giving man”.

In July 2018, Subban gushed over his partner to Fox News.

“I haven’t met anyone who’s tougher than her yet,” Subban said of Vonn. “But what she’s gone through just how she’s done it and how she’s managed to bounce back from those serious injuries and remain at the top, I don’t think I know another athlete that’s been as successful as she has pre-and-post injuries."

Ex Miss Universe Olivia Culpo says before her shoot she practiced in the mirror, had 10 poses ready and did a test shoot on her I Phone

Sports Illustrated announced in October 2018 that the former Miss Universe would be gracing the publication’s annual swimsuit issue for the second time.

Culpo’s rookie issue in 2017, titled In Her Own Words, showed the model wearing nothing but paint as a way to take ownership of the insecurities she felt stifled her before the shoot. This will reportedly be Culpo’s first time rocking bikini looks for the magazine, which she admitted she was nervous about.

SI reports that Culpo shared with People in January 2018 that she enlisted the help of Hannah Ferguson for her first rookie shoot and it gave her the confidence to do a second.

“I asked Hannah what I should do. She said, ‘practice in the mirror, practice all of your poses, have 10 poses ready, know your angles,’ and I did exactly that and it helped,” Olivia shared with People.

“I actually did a test shoot on my iPhone with someone that I work with. We looked insane. We were on the beach with the iPhone doing a test shoot. People were just staring at us.”

The influencer will be joined by models Danielle Herrington, Lindsey Vonn, and Kate Bock for the publication’s annual spread. The Inquisitr previously shared that model-turned-mogul Tyra Banks will appear on the issue’s cover, which will be her first swimsuit cover since retiring from modeling in the mid-2000s. Model Camille Kostek and soccer star Alex Morgan will also grace the cover the outlet’s annual swimsuit edition.

Lindsey Vonn a former Olympian looking good in the latest edition of Sport Illustrated Swimsuit edition

The former Olympian may be known for hitting the ski slopes at the Winter Olympics, but she’s also proven in recent weeks that she belongs at the beach in a series of sexy photos for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

Photos published by The Daily Mail show the blonde-haired beauty hitting the beach in a few seriously sexy swimsuits including a white string bikini that leaves little to nothing to the imagination.

Now, Vonn is looking forward to the next chapter in her life and even though she’s only been dating Subban for about a year, she still has babies on the brain. Shortly after retiring, The Inquisitr shared that Lindsey opened up about her life after sports and what the future may hold.

“I can’t wait to go skiing with my kids one day,” she shared. “We have to plan it out, but I mean I’m 34, so we’re thinking about it.”

Fans can check out all of Vonn’s bikini-clad photos in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
