“I’ve learned over the years that more isn’t always better,” she’s said. “It’s about consistency and listening to your body.”

Her approach to nutrition and recovery is equally down to earth. She eats clean but doesn’t obsess, staying hydrated, sleeping well, and keeping stress low—especially after races or intense blocks of training.
After the 2024 Olympic Marathon, she took three months completely off from running to reset. That kind of break, she says, helped her come back stronger—not just for racing, but in how she felt overall.
“You can train hard and still give your body what it needs,” she’s noted.

While she’s not one to show off on social media, those who’ve seen her on vacation know she carries herself with quiet confidence. With a second home in Ireland, she’s often enjoying peaceful training blocks in nature—or relaxing with her husband near the coast.

“Running makes me feel powerful,” she says. “That’s what I carry with me.”
