Amber Valletta is heating up South Florida in her swimsuit. The forever gorgeous supermodel shows off her incredible figure in a bathing suit via one of her latest social media posts. "Miami," she captioned the series of Instagram snaps.
Amber maintains an Ayurdvedic-inspired diet to help keep her skin clear. "I always had pretty good skin until this period in my late 30s where it got really angry. I think it was a hormone change or something—I just kept getting these really awful bumps, one after another. Finally I saw an Ayurvedic doctor who told me 'You need to cut out this, this, and this,' sort of like a cleanse. The whole process was really tailored—she looks at your eyes and your tongue and she said I had too much fire in my system. I had to cut out all spicy foods. I'm still pretty much on that diet, but I'm not as strict as I should be—I'll have dairy and drink coffee. But cutting things out cleared my skin up a lot," she told Into the Gloss.
Amber believes that physical health starts from the inside. "I try to meditate and pray," she told Allure. "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:
Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
Building skills to manage your stress
Increasing self-awareness
Focusing on the present
Reducing negative emotions
Increasing imagination and creativity
Increasing patience and tolerance
Lowering resting heart rate
Lowering resting blood pressure
Improving sleep quality
Amber's diet is simple, healthy, and nourishing. "I eat really clean and really simple: brown rice, a quinoa bowl, grilled fish, veggies, a big salad. I appreciate fine foods, but that's not how I eat day to day," she told Allure.
Amber spends a lot of time outdoors, hiking and walking. "Sunrise play in the Petrified Forest National Park in AZ with my road trippers @teddycharles35 , Bella and Milla," she captioned this post. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
In a video for MindBodyGreen Amber revealed that she has been sober since she was 25. "I'm coming out to you today, and I'm not coming out the way you think," she said. "I'm coming out to you as an addict. I suffer from a disease called addiction, and I've had it for as long as I can remember." She reveals that he addiction went from sniffing glue as a child and smoking marijuana later on to cocain and alcohol. "I was in a business where drugs were accepted, and they were given to me," she said. "I had a multi-million-dollar deal, and I showed up the first day to shoot this campaign high and drunk. I didn't care. And that's to just show you addiction takes you to the worst places."
