Maggie Rawlins was just a nurse until 2016, when she was discovered by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, as a part of their yearly SI Swimsuit Search. She recently enjoyed a day at the beach and shared a new reel on Instagram of it. In it, Rawlins was in the water while her dog ran to join her.
Rawlins did a "20 Questions" interview with Modeliste. In it, she talked about her approach to working out. "I don't really adhere to a strict routine right now. If I feel like my body needs to rest, I don't force a workout. I try to just take it day by day."
Rawlins is all about empowering others. She talked about this in her Modeliste interview. "I think empowerment comes from community and support, it's all of us standing together to lift each other up when we need help and to not be held back by society or inequality as women, minorities, or whatever that may be. I think it's the right to know we can stand for something, we can be successful and can make a difference."
Rawlins likes to spend time outside. She told Modeliste that she still did so during the pandemic. "I try to get outdoors as much as possible. Whether it's on the beach or boat in Charleston or for a quick walk for fresh air in NYC." Mind.org states that going outside has a lot of benefits. "Spending time in green space or bringing nature into your everyday life can benefit both your mental and physical wellbeing. For example, doing things like growing food or flowers, exercising outdoors or being around animals can have lots of positive effects."
Rawlins worked hard to get the career she has, and made sure to go after what she wants. She encouraged others to do the same in her Modeliste interview. "Don't take no for an answer. Keep pushing. Don't let the industry define who you are or what you can/cannot do."
Rawlins loves to ride horses. She shared a set of photos on Instagram of herself riding on a trail. The American Heart Association states that riding has a lot of benefits. "A study commissioned on behalf of the British Horse Society found that horseback riding is indeed a good cardiovascular workout. Even just a half hour of riding is considered 'moderate exercise,' said BHS PR executive Megan Hawkins, 'while trotting exerts more energy than playing badminton.'"
