Pippa Kari kari first started modelling two and a half years ago, when she was 20, while working as a community support worker with disabled and old people.
“There are not enough people like me who can talk about the secret side of modelling and pageantry," she says. "It can be quite hard, daunting and competitive. You must learn how to be happy and positive, have good emotional support and be in a good place in life. Or you can take every set-back personally.
“Models are encouraged to be and look a particular way. They are desired to look youthful, be fit or slim, as well as being confident and sociable.
"Although I have become more aware of myself as a result of this, and it has also motivated me to establish a good skin care routine, take in enough nutrition, go to the gym and improve upon my social and networking skills, I would encourage girls to be a certain age before getting into modelling, not before age 17.
"Having watched young girls be reduced to tears by judges' comments, young girls need to understand that modelling is not just about winning," Pippa says. (Mon 25) Views: 2,543
