Emily Ratajkowski going to a party during New York Fashion Week wearing a bikini top under her clothes, a new trend in the making

Summer might be coming to a close, but that doesn't mean you need to pack your swimwear away just yet, as Emily Ratajkowski proved last night. The model wore a bikini top to a New York Fashion Week event, pairing it with some autumnal tailoring in an unexpected transitional move.

Ratajkowski was pictured in New York wearing a long black tuxedo coat, tailored black trousers which were pinched in at the ankle with her lace-up sandals and a white string bikini.

While the look is certainly bold, she managed to keep the ensemble fairly low-key by sticking to monochromatic tailoring and accessorising with a sleek boxy tote, meaning she still looked smart, rather than as if she'd got lost on her way back from the beach.

It was not Ratajkowski's only look of the day. The model was later seen at the Daily Front Row Fashion Media Awards wearing a top-to-toe black ensemble in the form of tailored shorts and a low-cut, long-sleeved wrap top.

Sticking to another monochromatic colour palette and pairing tailoring with summery shorts, the model is a great example of how to slowly and subtly transition into the new season in style.
