Emilia Clarke is soaking up the sun in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the Game of Thrones alum shows off her amazing body in a bathing suit while vacationing with her family. "New life who dis? Turns out the South of France is where I will be living out the rest of my days… merci pour mes meilleures vacances à ce jour!" she captioned the post.
Emilia starts her morning with yoga. "The morning time is for me to try and calm my brain down," she told Harper's Bazaar. "I do yoga every morning for 15 minutes. I meditate, then I get to my beauty care. There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."
"During lockdown I saw my trainer online, and we do a mix of stuff," she told Vogue UK. "I've tried every exercise under the sun – I am not a HIIT girl and don't try and make me run. I want to do things that stretch me out as much as possible – light weights and a little bit of body weight stuff make me feel strong and aligned, but not like a 'she-Hulk'. What we do is make sure everything is in the right place and my back is straight, as that's when I feel strong and good. I also walk everywhere."
"[Recently] I've been meditating before going to sleep," she added to Vogue. "I use the Calm app, it's so good and sometimes when I'm desperate I use the Sleep Stories [on the app]. They really work, and apparently all it takes is a story about a train to send me to sleep!" "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:
Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
Building skills to manage your stress
Increasing self-awareness
Focusing on the present
Reducing negative emotions
Increasing imagination and creativity
Increasing patience and tolerance
Lowering resting heart rate
Lowering resting blood pressure
Improving sleep quality
Clarke trains with James Duigan, who put her on his "Lean and Clean" diet, which involves eating zero processed foods. "Becoming Clean and Lean is achievable for everyone and is more like an education on how to be healthy on our own rather than always following a strict regime," Duigan says. "This is about changing habits and understanding what you eat and how it affects your body – soon this will become second nature."
To get in shape for Terminator Genisys, Emilia told People that she had to change her diet and workout routine. Upping her protein intake and cutting out sugar helped fuel her body, and "it was really fun to do different kinds of training than what I would do myself and feel strong," says Clarke. But even so, "[when you finish], you're like, 'Please, can I have cake? Like, a chocolate cake, and a beer?'"
