Today's Bikini News
Married At First Sight star Erica Roberts is celebrating her happily ever after with an impromptu photo shoot. Roberts shared a picture of herself posing in a silver bikini, matching hat, and thick throw, standing in front of an outdoor hot tub. "Feeling blessed," she captioned the post. "Looking like Megan Fox," a fan commented.
Roberts enjoys the many health benefits of fresh fruit, especially apples. "Apples are popular for a reason," says registered dietitian Amber Sommer, RD, LD. "They're easy to eat on the go, and they taste terrific. But what most people don't know is that eating them regularly over time can provide a big health boost."
Roberts loves fresh salmon sashimi when she has sushi. "Fish is a good source of protein and, unlike fatty meat products, it's not high in saturated fat," says the American Heart Association. "Regularly eating fish and seafood is consistently associated with lower risk for cardiovascular disease. Fatty fish is also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for your heart. Research has shown that omega-3 fatty acids can reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.
Roberts hikes outside whenever she's at home in Edinburgh. "The intensity of a hike can be altered to fit the ability of the person hiking, from a simple hiking path in a neighborhood to a challenging climb up a mountain, which makes hiking accessible to all abilities and across all ages," says Jen Kates, Pn2, NASM-CPT, ACE Certified Health Coach. "The hillier the trail is, the harder your heart will work, therefore increasing the potential cardiovascular benefit."
Roberts is a big fan of swimming in the ocean. "Swimming is one of the most effective ways to burn calories," according to Swimming UK. "A gentle swim can burn over 200 calories in just half an hour, more than double that of walking. And a faster swim would see that chocolate bar gone quicker than if you went running or cycling."
Roberts loves to weight train at the gym, especially if she gets to do it with a friend. "Choose a weight or resistance level heavy enough to tire your muscles after about 12 to 15 repetitions," say the experts at the Mayo Clinic. "When you can easily do more repetitions of a certain exercise, gradually increase the weight or resistance. Research shows that a single set of 12 to 15 repetitions with the proper weight can build muscle efficiently in most people and can be as effective as three sets of the same exercise."
