Joey King reveals her washboard abs on Costa Rica vacation

Joey King is living her best life in Costa Rica, and she’s got the pics to prove it.

The Act star dropped several photos on Instagram that show her rocking a gorgeous flower-print string bikini for all it’s worth. There’s the 22-year-old (and her ridiculous abs) posing in front of a waterfall, Joey and her sculpted arms raised to the sky, and Joey + abs cuddling with her boyfriend, Steven Piet.

“This is really great,” she wrote in the caption.

People completely lost it in the comments. “ARE YOU KIDDING ME JOEY LYNN KING?!!! Is this a joke? ???” said I Know What You Did Last Summer star Brianne Tju. “Boddddddddyyyyyyy,” wrote All the Bright Places star Elle Fanning.

I mean, seriously:

This is hardly the first time Joey low-key floored people with her jacked-ness. Back in November, she causally shared some photos of herself with her six-pack on full display while hiking.

Joey previously told The New Potato that she tries to exercise four to five times a week, and that she’s heavy into running and boxing. "I absolutely love exercise because I feel energetic and happy when I work out on a regular basis, but sometimes vegging out is so necessary," she said.

While training for her upcoming role in The Princess, Joey told Byrdie that she spent three to four hours a day learning hardcore stunts that included skateboarding.

"I wake up, I pack my Gatorade and many liters of water. I eat a big breakfast: a bowl of oats with lots of fruit and some toast. I head to training, where I fuckin' go for it for a few hours,” she says. “Then I have meetings to prepare for the rest of the film. Then I take a shower, shove myself in an ice bath, and then I am miserable while I'm doing that. But then I get out and sleep like a goddamn baby."

But, while she’s super active, Joey also said that she tries not to get hung up on the details. "Most importantly, above all else, I practice self-love," she told The New Potato. "Your inner beauty shines when you are emotionally and physically kind to yourself."

In terms of her eating plan, Joey said she tries “to eat as healthfully as possible, but I don’t make myself crazy.” She added, "If I’m craving a piece of bread or a bowl of pasta, sometimes I just need to listen to my body and indulge. You definitely have to find a balance, though, because eating the right things has incredible health and healing benefits. It’s not about how you look–it’s about taking care of your body so you can be the best you."

Joey King shows off her beautiful body

Joey is setting up a thirst trap (and a joke) in her swimsuit. The young actress shows off her beautiful body in a bathing suit via one of her latest social media posts. "I've trapped my thirst," she captioned the set of Instagram snaps, which included one of herself clad in swimwear and another "trapping" her mouth with three glasses of wine.

Joey maintains a healthy diet, but doesn't deprive herself. "As far as diet and exercise go, I try to eat as healthfully as possible, but I don't make myself crazy," the actress said in an interview with The New Potato. "If I'm craving a piece of bread or a bowl of pasta, sometimes I just need to listen to my body and indulge. You definitely have to find a balance, though, because eating the right things has incredible health and healing benefits." She tries to fill her diet with fruits, veggies, and protein, "but nobody is perfect."

Joey makes exercise a regular part of her life.. "It's not about how you look – it's about taking care of your body so you can be the best you," she told The New Potato. "I also try to exercise 4-5 times a week, but that's if I'm feeling really motivated. I absolutely love exercise because I feel energetic and happy when I work out on a regular basis, but sometimes 'vegging out' is so necessary."

In addition to exercising at the gym, Joey runs and boxes. "I'm also big on boxing; it feels so amazing because I'm so focused," she told The New Potato. "This kind of boxing has many health benefits, because it constantly requires you to think, change your position, and change your posture," physical therapist Linda Arslanian, director of rehabilitation services at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's Hospital tells Harvard Health."You're swinging your arms, moving the muscles of your arms and shoulders, increasing your upper-body strength. And when you're in the boxer crouch with a wide stance, with your knees slightly bent, you're strengthening your core muscles, back, and legs."

According to Joey, "above all else" there is one thing that keeps her healthy and happy. "I practice self-love," she revealed. "Your inner beauty shines when you are emotionally and physically kind to yourself."

Joey works out for mental health benefits. "This sounds odd, but I didn't know I was the type of person that needs exercise to not feel wound up," she explained. "If I'm feeling pent up and I don't know why, if I just move my body, then all of a sudden I'm so much more relaxed," she told Byrdie.

Joey also enjoys hiking. "I wish I could beautifully describe how happy I feel in these photos. But I'm no poet, I'm just happy," she captioned a recent series of snaps. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.

Joey King Says "It's 4 Degrees Where I Am"

Joey King just shared a new photo on Instagram for her friend, Taylor Zakhar Perez's birthday. In it, the two posed on the beach. King wore a green swirled bathing suit, her figure on display. She captioned the post, "Allegedly you were born today, but I just wanted to post this picture anyway. Update: to everyone thinking we are here rn… It's 4 degrees Fahrenheit where I'm at."

King works with trainer, Jason Walsh, to help her stay in shape. He opened up about what it is like to work with the actress to Shape Magazine. Walsh says that King has a good approach to exercise. "I think a lot of it had to do with attitude," he says. "And eagerness to listen and want to get better, stronger."

King talked about her wellness to Byrdie. She says that working out is how she relieves stress. "This sounds odd, but I didn't know that I was the type of person that needs exercise to not feel wound up. If I'm feeling pent up and I don't know why, if I just move my body, then all of a sudden I'm so much more relaxed."

King tells Byrdie that she doesn't like to compare herself to others. Instead, she focuses on herself and what she needs to do. "I think not being able to make fun of yourself comes from comparing yourself to other people too much. It's hard not to. I'm human. I do it, too. Whether you're in the public eye or not, there's so much we have to let go."

A lot of people like to make personal goals. King is not one of them. She explained her reasoning to Byrdie. "You'll never be happy. Either you'll reach that goal and then just be thinking about the next one, or you won't reach that goal, and then you'll be miserable forever."

One type of workout King likes to do is weight training. She shared this video on Instagram of herself at the gym. In it, King is seen doing deadlifts with a large barbell. She captioned the video, "Personal record 140 lbs." Weight training, also known as resistance training, can provide a number of benefits for both men and women, including:
