Olivia Flowers is best known for being a cast member on the Bravo reality series, Southern Charm. She loves to hit the gym. Flowers recently shared a gym photo on her Instagram story. In it, she posed with her friend, Issac Boots. Flowers wore a white shirt and black shorts.
Flowers broke down her daily routine in an interview with Us Weekly. She says that she makes sure to make time for herself each day. The way Flowers does so? By planning her schedule. "My days can be all over the place," she explains. "So I enjoy this time because it gives structure to my week and keeps me organized, which is a job in itself."
Working out is a big part of Flowers' life. And she has some staple exercises that she goes back to on a regular basis. "I appreciate a structured plan when it comes to working out," Flowers said in an interview with Greenville News. "My schedule can be a little all over the place, so I find comfort in having consistency in fitness."
Flowers also told Us Weekly that she likes to strength train to keep herself in shape. She is also seen doing these exercises in this video on her Instagram. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength training has a lot of benefits. "Strength training can reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic conditions, such as arthritis, back pain, obesity, heart disease, depression and diabetes."
In her Instagram video, Flowers is seen doing mountain climbers. According to Gymless, this workout has a lot of benefits. "The mountain climbers work on several muscles groups at once, targeting both the upper body and lower body muscles which enables you to have a full-body workout. The primary muscles worked are the abdominals, glutes, and hip flexors. The secondary muscles worked are the anterior deltoids, quadriceps, hamstrings, triceps, and calves."
In her Us Weekly interview, Flowers shared some of her workout secrets. She says that she likes to work with a personal trainer. "I grew up playing basketball and tennis," she revealed. "So working one-on-one with my trainer, Eric, gives me that coach [and] athlete discipline I've missed from playing sports."

Flowers likes to cook a lot of her own meals. She shares her recipes in an Instagram story highlight on her page. In it, she is seen cooking lettuce wraps, pasta with shrimp, and a corn salad. According to Harvard Health, cooking your own meals is very beneficial. "Research is turning to studying the value of nutrition programs that include cooking instruction. These programs have been shown to help people adhere to a healthier diet, eat smaller portions, and lose weight — improvements that lasted as long as a year after the study ended. These programs can even help patients with type 2 diabetes to eat healthier, lower blood pressures and blood sugars, and lose weight. Hard to believe it, but time in the kitchen can be as valuable as medication for some people with diabetes."
Flowers does a lot of outdoor workouts to stay in shape. One thing she likes to do is go biking. In this set of photos she shared on Instagram, Flowers is seen on a bike. Harvard Health states that biking has a lot of benefits. "Health benefits include improved cardiovascular fitness, stronger muscles, greater coordination and general mobility, and reduced body fat. As with other types of exercise, it can also help improve mental health by lowering stress levels and stimulating feel-good endorphins."
Another outdoor activity Flowers does is going for hikes. While visiting Los Angeles, she took advantage of the city's many hiking spots. Flowers shared a photo of herself on a hike on Instagram. She captioned the post, "Thank you for the adventure and fueling my love for film ➡️ Charleston." The American Hiking Society states, "According to a study done for the American Heart Association, 631,636 died from heart disease in 2006. Another study estimates that heart disease will cost the nation $316.4 billion in terms of treatment, medication, and lost productivity.* The results of 43 separate studies by The Centers for Disease Control showed that by exercising, individuals significantly reduce their chances for heart problems, while those who do not exercise are twice as likely to have coronary heart disease."
As you can see from her recent Instagram post, Flowers likes to do squats. Allina Health states, "The squat is one of the all-around best exercises to do for your lower body. It strengthens and tones muscles in your thighs, butt and calves and improves posture, balance, flexibility and inner core strength. Squatting also improves bone mineral density to keep your bones strong.Include squats in your exercise routine two to three days a week to reap the benefits from this dynamite move."
Flowers makes sure to be consistent when it comes to fitness. She opened up about this in an interview with the Greenville News, she shared how she plans out her workouts. In a new social media post the Southern Charm beauty wishes her pal and costar, Venita Aspen, well wishes on her special day. "HBD to the best dressed @VENITAASPEN. Olivia loves playing tennis. Here she is on the court with Shep. According to ACE Fitness it blends together cardio and aerobic exercise, as there is a lot of running around, and hand-eye coordination. "While tennis provides numerous health benefits—improved aerobic fitness and anaerobic endurance, muscular fitness (grip strength and endurance), flexibility, multiple skill parameters (balance, speed, agility and quickness), reactivity, and power—it also is psychologically demanding," they say.
Olivia is a wine drinker. She recently took a trip to wine country where she enjoyed the sips and sights. "You had me at merlot… and Napa. Definitely had me at Napa. Beautiful time, wine, food & company," she captioned his photo. While excess drinking is never a good thing, the occasional glass of wine boasts cardiovascular benefits. "Red wine, in moderation, has long been thought of as heart healthy," says the Mayo Clinic. "The alcohol and certain substances in red wine called antioxidants may help prevent coronary artery disease, the condition that leads to heart attacks."
Olivia loves hiking. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
Olivia is also into kateboarding. You can often find her rolling around on her skateboard on social media. "Who you calling squid?" she captioned this snap.
Olivia is a golfer. "For those asking for my handicap," she captioned an Instagram Story. A comprehensive review published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that golf's health benefits are extensive, including mind, body, and even lifespan. Benefits include improved longevity, decreased risk of developing heart disease or suffering a stroke, good mental health, and improved strength and balance.

Flowers, 31, shared pictures of herself posing in front of a mirror in a hot pink bathing suit and a pink cut-out dress, making a tongue-in-cheek reference to 2004 movie Mean Girls. "I don't care what day it is, I like wearing pink," she captioned the post.
Flowers trains with Eric Johnson of Trifecta Athletics, who helped her come up with an ideal exercise routine. "I appreciate a structured plan when it comes to working out," she says. "My schedule can be a little all over the place, so I find comfort in having consistency in fitness."
Flowers loves to play tennis or go for a run as fun ways to stay active. "Running has shown to improve heart health, assist with weight loss, and improve mood," according to the experts at Harvard Health. "Worried about your joints? Some studies have found that running may actually improve the health of aging knees and ease symptoms of osteoarthritis like joint pain and stiffness."
Flowers enjoys going on challenging yet beautiful hikes whenever she can. "Like all forms of exercise, hiking is one of the best ways to lose weight and is a method of stabilizing cholesterol levels," says the American Hiking Society. "On average, you burn 100 calories for every mile you walk."
Flowers enjoys the occasional green juice, which can offer health benefits to those who avoid vegetables. "There's no scientific evidence that extracted juices are healthier than the juice you get by eating the fruit or vegetable itself," says Katherine Zeratsky, RD, LD. "But if you don't enjoy eating fruits and vegetables, juicing may be a way to add them to your diet or to try fruits and vegetables you might not eat."
Flowers has melasma, which causes dark spots on patches on the skin. Flowers uses creams and laser treatments to stay on top of the condition. "I was starting to notice it in some of my pictures, and so were a couple [of] other people, actually — I had a doctor in my comments ask me when I was going to 'shave my 'stache!'" she says.
