In an interview Genesis explains that she had to transform into her character, a very "disciplined" person who can transport a helicopter. "You also have to hold the back of the tail. You have to have some physical strength with your helicopter," she says. "And you need to be strong."
"While I was training, it was a lot of back, a lot of arms, a lot of this development," she says, adding that she was training with Navy SEAL Duffy Graver. "I never lifted weights before, really, and I just didn't wanna wimp out in front of someone that served our country. I was like, no you keep going. And you better not look weak in front of him. And you just keep going. And sometimes I'd be like, sorry, I need to throw up. And I would. I would throw up, and I come back and be like, much better. Okay, let's go. Let's keep going."
In an interview with Jack Rico, she revealed the extreme measures she took to lose 14 pounds in 20 days for the survival thriller Centigrade. "I followed a diet that Victoria's Secret models use before a shoot," she explained. "It consisted of a protein shake mixed with water and a protein bar—divided in half to eat as two snacks. The main meals, lunch and dinner, were just green vegetables, which I seasoned with lime, salt, and pepper. It was awful—the worst experience ever. But it worked, as I lost 14 pounds in 20 days."

Ho shared some of her wellness secrets with Thorne. "I try to start each day with some functional movements," she says. "Which are perfect because they are a nice stretch and a good way to turn on your muscles for the day. Most of my workouts are considered functional training, usually nothing more than 30-pound kettle bells and a lot of focus on core strength, speed, agility, and flexibility."
Ho makes sure to eat a healthy diet. She talked about her secrets for doing so in her Thorne interview. "Because we travel so much, options per country always change. If I'm surfing right away when I wake up, then breakfast is usually pretty light – I love fruit and it's usually always available in the tropical places I'm in. I don't eat much red meat – simply by choice so I try to make sure I get the nutrients I might lack from avoiding certain foods."
Ho revealed to Thorne that she takes a lot of supplements. "I've learned what supplements help my energy and focus, my hydration levels, and my muscle replenishment. Truly the full package. Dancing is one of her main workouts. "That's my main thing: I love to perform. I love to creative-direct. I started off dancing, but I think a huge part of that was simply storytelling. I always want to be telling stories through everything I do," she told HighSnobiety. Dancing helps build strength and promotes flexibility and even aids in weight loss and supports heart health. "Paul Zavala, an occupational therapist at Lee Health, says tennis contributes to fitness, strength, agility, flexibility, reflexes, and overall health. Tennis helps you learn better footwork and balance since mobility is a key to properly hitting the ball.
Tennis utilizes upper, core, and lower body muscles – but it's also one of the best cardiovascular and aerobic exercises you can do. Playing a few sets increases oxygen flow, circulation, and helps you fight back heart disease. That kind of physical workout also decreases lipids, which helps lower cholesterol."
Since she's a professional athlete, Vekić has to eat a healthy diet. She talked about her approach to eating in an interview with Tennis.com. Vekić says that balance is a big factor in her diet. "Nutrition is very important—up to 70 percent of helping you play your best—but we can also get away with taking a few liberties here and there. It all comes down to timing, and when you're eating right."
Vekić revealed in her Tennis.com interview that she decided to work with a nutritionist to help her plan meals and eat better. "I started working with a nutritionist in the last off-season, so I had a set meal plan, but it's a bit trickier to follow it when I'm on the road. I have to eat a lot in restaurants, which can make it harder to plan ahead, as opposed to when I'm able to cook at home."
When Vekić is on the court, she has to stay fueled. She revealed her pre, during, and post game foods in her Tennis.com interview. "I try to eat about two hours before a match, but if the match before mine goes longer than planned, I will have a small snack, like an energy bar or a banana. Afterward, I try not to eat carbs for dinner, and I try to eat my dinner early because I think it helps me sleep better."
Vekić had a great competitive year, and she's extremely proud of it. She revealed that she nearly quit tennis after knee surgery in an interview with AP News, which is why she's so proud of herself. "Those couple of years were very tough. I didn't think I was ever going to come back to the level that I even had last year. So this now, reaching my best result ever at a Slam, I'm really proud of myself, of the work that I've done, of the work that my team has done. I'm very thankful to them for believing in me when I didn't."

I'm one of those people that always enjoy working, and I have the luxury of a job that is fun for me. When I'm creating, when I'm on stage, when I'm making songs, and when I'm doing photoshoots, I feel good and empowered. I'm doing my purpose. I think that's a big part of my wellness. For me, it's constantly moving in creative endeavors. It's staying busy, active, and inspired, but it's also finding time to see my family. My family is important to me to try to see them – when I'm at home – nearly every day. My parents only live 15 or 20 minutes away from me," she shared.
"Also, spending some time with my cat and getting outside. Being outdoors and in the sun is important for our mental health. So, it's those three simple things: I love to work, be with my family, and try to get outside. Of course, there's more, but those are my main avenues to wellness," she added.
