Anne de Paula favorite workout is Muay Thai

What has Anne de Paula been up to this summer, aside from marrying her longtime boyfriend, NBA and Philadelphia 76'ers MVP Joel Embiid? Showing off her incredible body in a bathing suit. "Summer archives," the supermodel captioned a recent swimsuit selfie on Instagram.

Anne's favorite workout is Muay Thai, "without a doubt," she told Sports Illustrated. "It's a lifestyle for me. I love it and it's good for your body. It's also amazing for the mind."

When she can't get a Muay Thai workout in, she has an alternative. "The big thing I can do at home is shadow box. It's really fun and you can do it anywhere. I actually have a punching bag at home in Brazil and I'll use it when I'm there. But in New York, when I'm home, I'll just shadow box and it's great," she says, adding that it "helps build muscles in your arms and wrist. Plus it's great for stamina."

Anne also does strength and weight training exercises. "I work on my core muscles, push-ups and sit-ups. Jump rope I like to do at home. Squats too—I do those whenever I can. I also have weights for my legs and resistance bands that I use at home. I'm lucky because I also have a gym in my apartment building so I try and go three times per week when I'm in town," she told Sports Illustrated.

Anne maintains that "even walking around is great exercise. I walk everywhere when it's nice out and you get a good workout if it's a busy day. Now is the perfect time to be outside. It's not that hot like summertime but not that cold either," she told Sports Illustrated.

What does Anne always keep in her bag? "Water," she told Sports Illustrated. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

Baton Rouge native Brooks Nader officially won the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2019 Model Search.

The magazine revealed on Wednesday the pinup will appear in the 2020 issue as its handpicked “rookie.” She joins the ranks of fellow model search winners Camille Kostek, Haley Kalil, Anne De Paula and Mia Kang.

Back in May of this year, Nader attended the “SI Swimsuit on Location” event in Miami where she described how her life has changed since appearing on the magazine.

“For me, it’s everything,” Nader revealed at the venue’s red carpet affair. “I’ve always dreamt of it. It’s like a childhood dream of mine. I entered through Model Search, so I did the open call in Miami a year ago and now I’m here. So, the process and the journey for me is everything, because it was a long one.”

Nader insisted she would recommend any girl to take a chance to rock a skimpy swimsuit for the coveted magazine.

“Go for it,” she shared. “Do it. Be yourself. Own it. I mean, editor MJ Day and all the editors are just as nervous to meet you guys. Like, they want to see you. They want to see the real you. You want to be authentic. Show your flaws… MJ loves that. And it’s just such a special thing to be a part of this brand.”

The outlet also revealed Nader easily stands out from the pack. The pinup is described as someone who is obsessed with eating jalapenos from the jar and talented in peeling two pounds of crawfish in under 10 minutes, among other unique talents.

Looking back, Nader admitted she was stunned when the magazine’s editor called her with the exciting news about appearing in this year’s issue.

Nader also told Sports Illustrated Swimsuit that she hopes the opportunity will help her define what it means to be a model in today’s fashion industry.

“I want to inspire and encourage young women like my three little sisters to embrace and own who they are and go for it all in life,” Nader continued. “SI inspires us and gives us all permission to own our bodies and our personalities and gifts to let them shine before the watching world.”

Sport Illustrated Swimsuit model Anne De Paula revealed she originally dreamed to become a doctor

The Brazilian beauty returned for this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, making it her third shoot since winning the magazine’s 2017 Model Search. And while De Paula started modeling at age 13, the pinup revealed she originally dreamed of pursuing the family business in the health world and becoming a doctor instead.

De Paula says that dream is not over, far from it, but that she doesn’t mind slipping into a skimpy bikini and frolicking on the beaches of Kenya for photographer Yu Tsai either.

Fox News spoke with De Paula about appearing on SI for the third time, how her parents really feel about the racy snaps and her secret to staying in bikini-ready shape all year long.

Anne de Paula Is Shooting in Kenya for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2019

Brazilian model Anne de Paula is back for a third year with SI Swimsuit.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit said "She's stunning, sexy, and sweet. And she's back! We're so thrilled to have Anne de Paula return for her third shoot with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit!"

Anne was the winner of our 2017 Model Search, which earned her a spot in SI Swimsuit 2017's rookie class. And she's been a part of the family ever since!

"It’s something I really wanted when I started modeling. It’s amazing to finally say I’m able to be an SI model," she said last year. "When I started modeling, I would show people SI photos that I wanted to recreate on the beach in Rio. I wasn’t expecting it all."

Although Anne started modeling at age 13.  "I really wanted to be a doctor because all of my family works with health," she continued. "I was a tomboy … I used to play soccer on the team of my city. I used to be a goalkeeper and that was my number one thing."

Anne is shooting this year at Hemingways Watamu and Hemingways Ol Seki Mara in Kenya with photographer Yu Tsai.
